It’s crazy that it’s been 2 years already since the King of Pop, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Michael Jackson [/lastfm]unexpectedly passed away. But, he left us with great memories of his performances and humanitarian work.
Michael Jackson died unexpectedly on June, 25, 2009 due to an overdose and is still being debated in court. He left behind 3 young children, Prince, Paris and Blanket who now live with their grandmother, Katherine Jackson, who was one of the only people Michael trusted and knew his children would be in good hands with her. It is said that when Katherine is no longer able to care for the children,[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”] Diana Ross[/lastfm] will have guardianship of the 3 young children who are blossoming into young adults. The children are doing well and have had time to cope with the loss of their father, they are even taking acting classes and attending private school and not being home schooled anymore.
Michael Jackson became known as the youngest at the age of 5 in the group [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jackson 5[/lastfm], which consisted of him and his brothers. The group got it’s big break when they were hired for the opening act for [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Gladys Knight[/lastfm] and the Pips, [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]James Brown[/lastfm], and [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Sam and Dave[/lastfm]. After becoming well-known to many artists and the public they were signed to Motown Records and began recording. But what got them even more recognized was when they opened for The Supremes, their first album, Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5, hit the charts in December of that year. It’s first single, “I Want You Back,” hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1970.
After a while, Michael Jackson began his solo career and became super successful, recording hit after hit and selling out concerts all over the world. The entire world had become obsessed with Michael Jackson! With his fame, he used it all for the good, he did humanitarian work all over the world, visited some of the poorest countries and villages. He also built homes and schools for children, bringing them the necessary items for them to live well. He just had a vision for making the world a better place.
